With finals over and the summer getting started, some of the Panther Camp Facilitators decided to take a weekend trip to Orlando to de-stress and relax. Accommodating 36 people however, was no easy task, but we managed.
Right after our Friday meeting we all coordinated and were ready to embark on our long and tedious 4 hour drive to Orlando. Once in Orlando we decided to split up into smaller groups so that everyone could explore whichever part of Central Florida they wanted to. A portion of the group chose to visit the home of the worlds most famous mouse, others went Disney’s rivalry park Universal Studios, and some chose to just have a chill day at Wekiva Springs, located just north of Orlando.
That first night however, we all agreed to go to Disney Springs and have a night full of pizza, laughter, and fun to celebrate Panther Camp Facilitator Aileen Chong’s birthday.
The second day we all parted our separate ways for the day, those that went to have a great time with Mickey and friends had a great time and were at the park from 8am until CLOSE! (they definitely got them steps in)
The group at the springs had a really great time as well, even though they had another 45 minute drive to the springs they made the most of it and enjoyed the water. If you have never been to a springs, just know the water is very cold!
Those that went to Universal Studios spent most of the entire day there, and had a blast riding all of the roller coasters.
This was only the begging of the summer for our Panther Camp Facilitators and they are beyond excited to meet all the incoming students at Camp this summer.
If you haven’t registered for camp yet make sure to do it ASAP, because spots fill up FAST.
See You at Camp! :)
