Scholarship Opportunities
Panther Camp Scholarship
The Panther Camp Scholarship is awarded to students based on financial need. Recipients will receive a $50.00 scholarship, which will reduce the $90.00 registration fee. The recipients of the scholarship are responsible for the $40.00 difference in the cost of registration. Recipients are selected solely based on expressed financial need, not on merit. In addition to the application, you must attach a 1 page essay focusing on why you would like to attend Panther Camp and what you hope to gain from the experience.
Upon receipt of all application materials (online form and one-page essay), Panther Camp leadership will review your application and make a decision within 10 business days. All scholarshiop money is distributed on a first-come, first-served basis. All recipients are notified via email whether or not they have received a scholarship. Those selected for the scholarship will receive additional information about how to register and pay the reduced registration fee.
Please note that scholarships will not be granted to individuals who have already registered for Panther Camp and paid the $90 registration fee. We are not able to grant partial refunds to participants who register paying the full registration cost.
Robillard Scholarship
The Robillard Scholarship will allow up to 12 students each year to have the full registration cost of Panther Camp covered by completing the requirements of the program. Robillard Scholars will be selected to participate in a cohort experience which includes attending Panther Camp and successfully completing the Academy of Leaders program in Fall 2020. The Robillard Scholarship will cover the full cost of Panther Camp and AOL.
The Robillard Scholarship will be awarded to applicants who are interested in participating in Panther Camp and continuing their involvement and engagement with FIU following the camp experience. Applicants should outline their plans to be involved throughout their time at FIU and how participating in Panther Camp and the Academy of Leaders will help them to do so. The Robillard Scholarship is not a need-based scholarship, but instead is based on merit and intended impact on the FIU community through spirit, leadership, and involvement.
The scholarship is open to students admitted as either transfer or freshmen for the Summer/Early Fall or Fall 2020 semesters.
